Pattern notes

  • Please make sure to read through the pattern first before you start.

  • This pattern is worked in rounds if nothing else is said.
  • This pattern is worked with yarn under sc – Insert your hook under the top two loops, yarn under, pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through both loops. This creates an “x” stitch.
  • I use invisible decrease in my work - Insert your hook in the FLO of the next 2 stitches. Yarn over and pull through 2 of the 3 loops on your hook. Yarn over and pull through both loops on your hook.

Yarn: #6 Wolans Bunny Baby in Light Pink (100-04), Pink (100-06), Pearl white (100-71), Orange

 

  • Crochet Hook: Clover Amour 3.5mm (When choosing a hook size, remember that everyone's tension is unique. As a result, you may need to experiment with different hook sizes to find the one that works best for you.)
  • Felt eyes: 1" eyelashes 
  • Darning needle
  • Polyester filling
  • A pair of scissors
  • Stitch marker (optional)

Head & Body

Working with light pink yarn.

Stuff as you go.

Rnd 1: 8 sc in mr (8)

Rnd 2: (inc) x8 (16)

Rnd 3: (1 sc, inc) x8 (24)

Rnd 4: (3 sc, inc) x6 (30)

Rnds 5-8: 30 sc (4 rnds) (30)

Rnd 9: [3 sc, dec] x6 (24)

Change to pink yarn.

Rnd 10: (3 sc, inc) x6 (30)

Rnd 11: (4 sc, inc) x6 (36)

Rnds 12-15: 36 sc (4 rnds) (36)

Rnd 16: (4 sc, dec) x6 (30)

Rnd 17: (3 sc, dec) x 6 (24)

Rnd 18: (2 sc, dec) x6 (18)

Cut the yarn and fasten off the yarn tail.

Eyes (make 2)

Working with white yarn.

Rnd 1: 8 sc in mr (8)

Rnd 2: (inc) x8 (16)

Cut the yarn, leave a long tail for sewing. 

  • Sew on eyes over rnds 5-9.

 

Wings (make 2)

Working with light pink yarn yarn.

[...] = Worked into the same stitch.

Rnd 1: 8 sc in mr (8)

Rnd 2: [2 sc], [2 hdc], [2 dc], ch 2, sl st in 2nd chain from your hook, [2 dc], [2 hdc], [2 sc] x3, sl st in first st (16, not counting ch 2, sl st x2)

Cut the yarn, leave a tail for sewing. 

  • Place and sew the wings onto the side of the owl on round 11.

Ears 

Working with light pink yarn.

Mark 2 stitches on Rnd 3 with 7 sts in between.

Pull up a loop on your hook, chain 2, 1 dc into the marked stitch, then chain 2 and slst into same st.

Cut the yarn, tie 2 yarn tails together and hide them inside the head.

  • With orange yarn, embroider a beak between the eyes over rnd 10-11.
  • With orange yarn, embroider feet over rnds 15-16.
  • Glue on felt eyelashes on the white eye patches.
